The person in the full protective suit is completely sprayed by a rotating nozzle on the ceiling of the canopy. Manual cleaning is also possible thanks to an integrated hand shower. It is possible to add cleaning agents and disinfectants to the water. After the person leaves the airlock, the self-cleaning program starts with 360° cleaning.  

All side walls and doors are fitted with safety glass panes that have a special dirt and water-repellent coating. Contaminated water runs off the top surfaces and into the bottom trough. The virtually jointless interior and highly smooth, water-repellent surfaces ensure optimum self-cleaning of the decontamination airlock.
